SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Air National Guard is going to resume flight training with its F-16 aircraft.
The guard said Tuesday it had been notified by the director of the Air National Guard that flight training of the 158th Fighter Wing may resume so the wing can maintain its basic mission capable rates.
The basic mission capable rate is training needed for essential activities to maintain readiness levels directed by the Air National Guard.
Vermont Adjutant Gen. Steven Cray says the guard will do all that it can to maintain readiness, but until the government shutdown is resolved, traditional part-time guardsman and women can't be called for training.
