BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Organizers have started a "walkability campaign" in Vermont's Bennington County.
They want to make it safer for pedestrians.
Bennington County Regional Commission employees and two AmeriCorps VISTA members have four projects in mind: a walking path between a housing and apartment complex, a bike path, sidewalks, and a connector path from downtown Bennington to a shopping district.
The Bennington Banner reports the group hopes the construction of these walking and biking trails will both encourage and inspire Bennington residents to incorporate more walking into their daily routines.
