Huber+Suhner leaving Vermont

Posted: Updated:

An Essex Junction electrical component manufacturer is leaving Vermont, taking 63 jobs.

Huber+Suhner makes cables, connectors, antennas and other products. The Swiss company has had its U.S. headquarters in Essex since 1990. But company officials say their business has changed, so they are relocating the operation to Charlotte, N.C., by the middle of next year.

The company says some employees will be asked to move with the company, but most of the manufacturing jobs will be discontinued at the end of this year. All separated employees will be offered severance packages and outplacement services.
