North Country residents push for NYC flights

SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. -

Several North Country businesses are joining in a push by residents to try to add commercial airline service to the Adirondack Regional Airport.

They want the flights to and from New York City to be partially paid for with a federal subsidy, the Essential Air Service program.

Local colleges and hospitals are among those businesses asking to be a part of the petition.

Proponents say adding the flight would help the economy in the Saranac Lake area.
