Vt. Minimum wage set to increase

MONTPELIER, Vt. -

Vermont's minimum wage will go up at the start of next year.
    
The wage rate is tied to the consumer price index, so every year at this time the state labor department calculates any adjustments that need to be made for the following year.

This year's calculations show the wage will increase 13-cents an hour to $8.73 an hour. Workers who earn tips will see their minimum wage increase 6-cents an hour to $4.23.
