Halloween spooks in Jericho

Posted: Updated:

It's the day for ghosts and goblins -- and of course jack-o-lanterns.
Among the many displays of lighted pumpkins is one on Cilley Hill Road in Jericho, known as the Pumpkin Glow. Five hundred jack-o-lanterns have been carved by residents Ann and Richard Squires and laid out in a field. It's always a big attraction for families.

"This has been going on since my kids were babies and they all used to carve the pumpkin, so it's like every year we always look forward to coming down and seeing all the pumpkins and seeing the kids and just enjoying it," said Eileen Teehan of Jericho.

"I like that it's just the community coming together and making a really cool place to come with families and everything and be able to check out some natural stuff," said Chelsea Laurie of Underhill.

The Pumpkin Glow can be seen again Thursday night from dusk till about 9 p.m. on Cilley Hill Road in Jericho.
