RUTLAND, Vt. -

Former Winooski City Manager Josh Handverger Friday lost his lawsuit against the city.

Handverger claimed he was improperly fired back in 2008 because his dismissal hearing was scheduled on the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.

The case went to trial this week and Friday a jury found that Handverger did not prove the city had failed to accommodate his religious beliefs.
