More fuel companies drop LIHEAP customers

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. -

More fuel dealers are saying "no" to the state when it comes to helping low income Vermonters this winter.

Last week WCAX reported that two dealers, complaining about the prices set for fuel purchased with LIHEAP checks, pulled out of the program. Richard Moffi, the state's fuel assistance director, now says about a dozen companies have told the state they will not take part. That will effect about 1,400 customers. They now have to find a new supplier who will accept LIHEAP funds.

The list of non-participating suppliers include:

Bourne's Energy
Gillespie Fuels Inc.
(Gillespie ) Randolph Coal & Oil
Jack F Corse Inc.
Kevin L Rogers Inc
Patriot Fuels Inc.
Patterson Fuels
Patterson Propane
(Patterson Fuels) LaCross Fuels Inc.
Rowley Fuels
Simple Energy
