BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Officials in the Vermont town of Brattleboro have agreed to form a new committee to search for a site for a skate park in town.
The board wants the committee to find a site that is accessible, safe, visible and possibly has parking and bathrooms nearby.
The Brattleboro Area Skatepark is Coming Committee or BASIC voted to ask for the new panel.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports that BASIC had asked the select board on Oct. 1 to allow it to reduce the size of a proposed park to 5,000 square feet even though an 11,000-square-foot park had already been approved. The board decided to table the discussion and then the committee voted to give up on its plan and work with a new site committee to find the best location.
