Firefighters had to cut a driver out of his wrecked car in Milton Wednesday morning.
Crews responded to the East Road crash around midnight. The vehicle slammed into the railroad bridge. Two people were inside. The passenger was able to make it out. However, crews spent a longer time trying to free the trapped driver.
Milton Fire Chief Don Turner said accidents are common on East Road. "That road for years has caused accidents. If you're not familiar with that road, traveling at any speed, you're going to have a problem."
Both people were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unclear.
Police say speed appears to have played a role in the crash.
