Author Abigail Carroll discusses her latest book, "Three Squares: The Invention of the American Meal."
Carroll's book travels beyond what we eat to how we eat as well as when and where. The journey in writing this book began with Carroll studying how Americans snack. However, the author says she soon found herself delving more into how Americans consume food.
During her study Carroll discovered work played a major role in American food culture. She also found a relationship between the popularity of snacking and obesity.
Carroll will be participating in an author talk at Burlington's Phoenix Bookstore, Thursday. Visit the bookstore's website for details for this event.
