ENOSBURGH FALLS, Vt. (AP) - Family and friends of a Vermont woman who was killed in what police described as a road rage shooting are holding a benefit dance in her memory.
The event for Anna Alger of Highgate is scheduled on Saturday. Proceeds are going to her 9-year-old daughter.
Alger was shot Sept. 25 during an encounter with Matthew Webster of Swanton. Webster, who pleaded not guilty, said he had just argued with his wife over his extramarital affair and went for a drive with a gun in his hand. He allegedly ran a red light and almost was struck by a woman's car. He said she then came at him "like a six-point buck."
The Burlington Free Press reports the dance is being held at Stonebrook Banquet Hall in Enosburgh Falls.
