Vermont's attorney general is going after a farmer and a logger in Orleans County for water pollution.
The AG has obtained a court order to stop Nelson Farms of Derby from discharging phosphorous-laden manure into streams from a pair of large farms with more than 1,000 cows.
The AG's office is taking similar action against Reginald Riendeau. State officials say Riendeau's logging operation in Albany resulted in illegal discharges into state waters. The complaint also alleges Riendeau violated the state's heavy cutting law.
