Posted: Updated:

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The state of Vermont says the general and education fund revenues were slightly ahead of expectations in October while the Transportation Fund was just below forecasts.

Administration Secretary Jeb Spaulding General Fund revenues were about 1.75 percent ahead of projections. So far for fiscal year 2014, the revenues are up by just over one half of a percentage point.

The non-Property Tax Education Fund was almost 3 percent above expectations. Year-to-date, the Education Fund is about eight-tenths of one percent above projections.

Transportation fund receipts in October were below expectations by just below one-half of 1 percent. But the year-to-date Transportation receipts are about 1.15 percent above the target.

Spaulding says the state is pleased with the numbers, but official will remain vigilant for any unanticipated changes.
