Sock hunters turn out in Northfield

Posted: Updated:
NORTHFIELD, Vt. -

Imagine lining up for hours to buy socks.

For 34 years, Cabot Hosiery Mills in Northfield has held an annual sock sale.

They have thousands and thousands of socks for sale for cheap. Every November, customers stand in line waiting to buy comfy, warm socks for the winter.

Cabot Hosiery says although they always have enormous turnout, they have never run out of socks.

"It's definitely become a social event, people stand in line and say oh you're here again and the same with our workers, our workers see the same customers year after year and it's kinda neat," says Tony Harris wiht Cabot Hosiery.

The sock sale continues Sunday, and next weekend. It starts at 8:30 a.m.
