This week marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Just about everyone who was alive remembers where they were when they heard the news.
Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy was a student at Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C. In an interview with The Washington Post, Leahy recalled that fateful day and how he rushed back to his apartment to tell his wife, Marcelle.
Leahy and his wife watched the funeral procession from the street. He says even today when he and Marcelle pass that spot they both think of President Kennedy.
