A New York family of six is homeless after fire destroyed part of their house.
The blaze broke out on Route 276 in Champlain around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters say it likely started in the attached garage before spreading to the back of the home, which suffered heavy smoke and water damage. The Red Cross is helping the family with four young children find a place to stay.
Firefighters say the home may be salvageable. The cause is still under investigation.
