The high school state champs have been crowned, the North-South game is in the books and in the DIII college ranks, Middlebury and Castleton have hung up their helmets for the season. However, tnere is one Vermont football team still playing: the Norwich Cadets.
Norwich, which finished the season 7-3 and on a five game win streak, will travel to Massachusetts to take on Springfield College in the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl Saturday at noon. Springfield and Norwich have a long history.
The two teams have met 27 times dating back to 1914. The last meeting was in 2008, a win by Springfield, and overall the Pride have dominated the series 25-2. Despite those numbers, the one-sided rivalry doesn't phase this group of Cadets, who are thrilled to get one more chance to play and end their season with a bowl win.
