WARREN, Vt. (AP) - Two hikers are all right after finding their way back from Vermont's Camel's Hump State Park.
Police got a 911 call from them on Saturday night, which ended after 12 seconds. Repeated attempts calling back were unsuccessful. Cellphone coordinates placed the call on or near the Long Trail in the Sugarbush area.
Searchers checked the area of the cellphone coordinates but did not locate the hikers, Jay Blanchard and Christina Sweet of Burlington. Police attempted to find Blanchard's vehicle, without success.
Shortly after searching the section of the Long Trail, police received a call from Blanchard advising that he and Sweet had found their way back to their vehicle but didn't have cell service for a while before finally being able to call. Both were fine.
