BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Detroit man has pleaded not guilty in federal court in Vermont to charges he conspired to sell heroin.
The Vermont Drug Task Force alleges that 34-year-old Rudolph Williams Jr. periodically sold heroin and other drugs out of an Orleans town apartment since June.
Police arrested Williams on Nov. 14 in Plattsburgh, N.Y., shortly after he got off a bus.
Williams was indicted on the drug conspiracy charge by a federal grand jury last week.
The federal public defender's office didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday.
The Burlington Free Press reports according to court filings, Williams has 12 prior convictions, including three for felonies. There also were two warrants for his arrest on drug charges pending in Michigan at the time he was apprehended in Plattsburgh.
