Volunteers for the Committee on Temporary Shelter are dialing for dollars to benefit the less fortunate.
More than 200 volunteers will be working the phones at the COTS phonathon to help raise $175,000. This is the nonprofit's biggest fundraiser and will help provide shelter and services for the homeless.
"One thing that's just amazing about living in this community is how generous people are when they understand who they're helping and why. There's very few things more compelling than making sure families with children have a place," COTS Director Rita Markley explained.
All of the money raised at this year's phonathon will go directly to COTS services.
The organization is welcoming anyone interested in helping with the phonathon. The fundraiser ends Dec. 10.
