Police investigate motel assault and robbery in Shelburne

SHELBURNE, Vt. -

Shelburne police say a motel clerk was injured during an assault and robbery Monday.

It happened at the North Star Motel on Shelburne Road just before 5 p.m. Police say a man and woman entered from the back, and when the clerk asked if she could help them, the woman allegedly hit her in the face with a wooden object and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the male suspect is about 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, clean shaven with a thin build. The woman is described as 5-foot-2 and slender. She was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a bandana covering her face.
