Burlington police: Woman held up cab driver

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Police in Burlington are searching for a woman who held up a cab driver.

It happened Monday night in the Old North End at Archibald and Hyde streets. Police say a driver for Green Cab picked up a woman who then pressed an object against the driver's back and demanded money. The woman is described as slim and about 5-foot-2. She was wearing a sweatshirt.

Investigators are looking at whether this incident is connected to an assault and robbery Monday night at the North Star Motel in Shelburne. A man and a woman wearing a hooded sweatshirt held up the clerk. The woman allegedly hit the clerk in the face with a wooden object. She was described as 5-foot-2 and slender.
