South Burlington is set to announce new developments in the on-going effort to mitigate noise around the Burlington airport.
Using federal funds, the airport has purchased more than 60 homes near the airport. The goal is to tear them down to create a noise buffer for the neighborhood. Demolition of most of the homes is on hold because of a legal challenge.
City, state and airport officials have called a press conference for Monday afternoon to announce a new collaborative process to address property purchases and noise abatement.
