POWNAL, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say numerous vehicle crashes have been reported in the towns of Pownal, Searsburg and Shaftsbury after a fast-moving snowstorm made roads slick in the southern part of the state.
Police responded to five crashes Tuesday afternoon, and say six other vehicles have gone off the road or gotten stuck.
No serious injuries have been reported.
Police say most of the crashes were caused by drivers traveling too fast for road conditions.
Police say several tractor-trailers also were stuck on Vermont Routes 8 and 9 in Searsburg, which were covered in snow. Some of the trucks had to be removed from the road with a heavy-duty wrecker.
