CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A Vermont fugitive has been arrested in the New Hampshire town of Rochester after leading police on a high speed chase.
An arrest warrant was issued for 36-year-old Reuben Adams in Vermont in July on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, gross and negligent operation and felony possession of heroin.
Federal marshals say during an attempted arrest in Vermont, Adams is accused of dragging a police officer down the road with his vehicle.
Authorities arrested him Wednesday after a chase in which Adams abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. Officers followed his footprints to a nearby garage where they found him hiding in the rafters.
He is being held without bail. It was not immediately known if he was being represented by a lawyer.
