BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - About 45 Santas and elves will be singing carols in Burlington, Vt., bars and restaurants to raise money for local Vermont charities.

The 15th Santa Night takes place Friday.

Volunteers dressed as Santas and elves will travel by bus and visit 10 establishments.

Organizers recruited volunteers, called "Santa's Helpers," who raise at least $150 before the event.

They then sing carols and collect donations from diners.

The money goes to the Vermont Respite House, Burlington Boys & Girls Club, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, The Last Chance Christmas Program, Spectrum Youth and Family Services, King Street Center, Women Helping Battered Women, Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, and other groups.
