A longtime political hand -- will be working on the state's push toward single payer healthcare.
Kathy Hoyt served in top jobs for Governors Dean and Kunin. But in January she is heading to the statehouse as a Representative from Norwich.
House Speaker Shap Smith told lawmakers Friday night that Hoyt will serve on the Health Care Committee. It is tackling the problems with Vermont Health Connect and setting up the state's move to a single payer health system.
Hoyt's move to the committee means Republican John Mitchell of Fairfax -- is moving from Health Care - to the Education Committee.
Republican House Leader Don Turner says the move is another example of the Governor and Speaker not wanting to answer tough questions on healthcare.
