Storm makes for travel challenges

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Although the snow is great for the slopes, it can be a nightmare for travelers.  Hundreds of flights were canceled at airports around the Northeast Sunday.

At Boston's Logan airport, where many flights were canceled Sunday morning, most afternoon flights are listed as on time. Flights in the New York City area have been taking off on schedule.

On the roads, drivers also had a rough go of it. The heavy snowfall caused slippery roads and low visibility for much of Sunday morning. Multiple accidents were reported across the state.

"There's a lot of snow -- probably about four inches on the road and it was pretty thick and slippery underneath, so definitely a couple times where my anti-lock brakes locked up and make some turns and fish-tailed a little bit," said driver Elise Everett of Shelburne.

State Police remind drivers to use caution and reduce speed.
