Cars and trucks stuck in the snow shut down Vermont Route 9 in Searsburg for awhile Tuesday afternoon.
Vermont State Police worked with the Transportation Agency and local tow companies to clear the roadway.
The road reopened at about 4:30 p.m.
Route 9, which runs between Brattleboro and Bennington, is a steep and windy road that is the site of frequent problems when the weather is bad.
On Tuesday, a Route 9 highway camera in Woodford, about eight miles from Searsburg, showed the roadway covered in snow.
