BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A Winooski man was sentenced Thursday for the 2012 death of a South Burlington drug dealer.

Police say Robert Dougherty gunned down Abdul Clay, 34, during a crack cocaine deal gone wrong. Dougherty was initially charged with murder, but later struck a deal with prosecutors, pleading no contest to manslaughter and assault and robbery.

A judge sentenced him to 13 to 25 years behind bars.
