NH residents, utilities brace for power outages

CONWAY, N.H. -

New Hampshire residents are bracing for this ice storm.

It's expected to bear down on parts of the northeast this weekend. The National Weather Service says ice accumulation up to a half an inch could impact travel and cause widespread outages.

Utility companies say they're already taking steps to prepare for the worst.

"What we're doing is we're working with other companies of northeast utilities to bring in crews as early as Saturday evening from Connecticut and Massachusetts to bolster our troops," says Martin Murray with PSNH.

And utility companies are asking people to pay attention to current conditions, report any downed wires, and keep a safe distance from them.
