SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

The following are a list of cancelled church services for Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013.

Barre

The Barre Evangelical Free Church has cancelled both the early service and Sunday School.  The 10.45 am service is still on schedule.

Bridport

Hope Community Fellowship in Bridport VT is canceling services Sunday.

Burlington

Burlington Elk's Lodge BPOE 916 on North Avenue has cancelled the Children's Christmas Party.

First Congregational Church of Burlington has cancelled worship services and Bible Study.

College Street Church has cancelled their morning service located at Temple Sinai in South Burlington.

Church at the Well has cancelled for Sunday.

 Christ Church, Presbyterian has cancelled for Sunday. 

The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington has cancelled both it's 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services for Sunday.

Redeemer Burlington has cancelled its 4pm service.

Colchester

Malletts Bay Congregational Church UCC has cancelled worship for Sunday morning.

Daybreak Community Church in Colchester has cancelled their services for Sunday. The Live Nativity and Christmas Eve Services will be held at 6pm 12/24.

Essex

Covenant Community Church on Whitcomb Meadows Lane is cancelled.

Essex Junction

Essex Alliance Church on Old Stage Road. All Sunday morning services have been cancelled as well as evening programs.

First Congregational Church of Essex Junction, UCC.  Christmas Pageant will be postponed until December 29th

Fairfax

United Church of Fairfax has canceled their church service for Sunday.  We will have the special music on 12/29.  Christmas Eve will be at 5pm. 

Georgia

Georgia Plain Baptist Church -- All services and Sunday school are cancelled Sunday.

Hinesburg

Hyde Park

Chrstmas Pagent at the 2nd Congregational Church has been cancelled.

Community Alliance Church has cancelled Sunday services.

The United Church of Hinesburg has cancelled their services for Sunday.

Jericho

United Christian Assembly on Raceway Road in Jericho is canceled due to adverse weather conditions.

Johnson

The Lamoille Valley Church of the Nazarene in Johnson is cancelling all services today.  There will be a Christmas Eve service at 6:30 on the 24th and the Children's Christmas Musical has been rescheduled for 10:30 on the 29th.

Milton

New Life Church in Milton is cancelling its morning service.

Monkton

Monkton Friends Church in VT has cancelled worship services for Sunday.  The Children's Christmas Pageant is postponed until next Sunday, December 29, 2013.

New Haven

New Haven Congregational Church has cancelled services.

North Ferrisburgh

Monkton Friends Church Children's Christmas Pageant is postponed until next Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.

Richmond

Richmond Congregational Church has cancelled services for Sunday morning.

Shelburne

Shelburne United Methodist Church -- all services cancelled.

Shoreham

Shoreham Congregational Church has cancelled Sunday morning's service. The Christmas Pageant will be postponed until next Sunday, December 29th during the service at 10:00.

South Burlington

Ascension Lutheran Church all services are cancelled for Sunday.

College Street Church has cancelled their morning service located at Temple Sinai.

Community Bible Church has cancelled services for Sunday.

Faith United Methodist in South Burlington -- all services are cancelled for Sunday.

Community Lutheran Church in South Burlington has cancelled services for Sunday due to a power outage.

St. Albans

Church of the Rock in St. Albans has cancelled all Sunday morning services.

Northside Baptist has cancelled morning services. A decision will be made in the afternoon for evening service.

Stowe

Stowe Community Church is cancelling all church services Sunday.

Vergennes

Champlain Valley Christian Reformed Church in Vergennes has cancelled its worship service and all activities for Sunday.

Waterbury

Waterbury Mission is canceling services for Sunday. They will have Christmas Eve Service on Tuesday, Dec 24th at 6:00pm at Thatcher Brook Primary School.

Living Hope Wesleyan Church in Waterbury Center has cancelled its service.

Wesley UMC in Waterbury has canceled morning worship.

Whiting

Whiting Community Church to the "cancelled services lists" for Sunday.

Williston

Christ Memorial Church has cancelled Sunday night's church service.  The Christmas Eve Service will be held on the 24th at 7pm.

Williston Church of the Nazarene -- All services are cancelled and children's program will be held on December 29.

Living Hope Christian Church has cancelled its services.

NEW YORK:

Sunday Morning 9:30A.M. Services for Sunday, December 22nd, 2013 at First Congregational Church of Crown Point, NY are cancelled due to weather and safety concerns. Pastor has asked that ALL characters in the live Nativity scheduled for Christmas Eve be at the church on Monday, 1:00P.M. for costume fitting. Christmas Eve Service is scheduled for Tuesday, 7:00 P.M.

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Plattsburgh has canceled Sunday service because of the state of emergency created by the ice storm. Mitten tree donations may be brought to the 4:30 Christmas Eve service or to the 5 p.m. reception at the church's Elm Street building.

    In Rutland a pharmacist is accused of stealing meds from his employer. 32-year-old Brandon Cigana worked at the Walgreens Pharmacy on Woodstock Avenue. Prosecutors say he used his position there to access the pharmacy's inventory stealing regulated drugs like benzodiazepines, Hydrocodone and Suboxone for himself without a prescription. The Whitehall, New York man faces up to two years behind bars.More >>

    Police made a drug bust Wednesday night in Burlington's Old North End. Police and the U.S. Marshal's raided this home on Cedar Street around 8 o'clock. They say they seized heroin and cocaine. Six people were inside when authorities went in. But they're not saying how many arrests were made. The raid was part of an ongoing drug investigation.More >>

    Fire has damaged ten acres of a Lyndonville tree farm. Eight department were called in to battle the blaze. And it took four hours to get the flames under control.     Bird watchers are being reminded to give nesting bald eagles plenty of space. The Vermont Fish Wildlife Department is urging anyone who sees a nesting eagle not to get closer than 300 feet. Activity too close to their nest can result in them abandoning their young. Harassing a bald eagle is illegal and a violation of the state endangered species statute.More >>

    Police are searching for who fired a gun into a home in New Haven. It happened late Tuesday night at 2420 Munger Street. Police say a bullet passed through a window of the home. Luckily no one was hurt. Investigators say a stop sign at the intersection of Munger Street and Cobble Road had also been shot. Anyone with information should call state police.More >>
