Flooding, power failures around region

Posted: Updated:

Flooding and other power related problems caused trouble around the region Monday.

In Morrisville an ice jam caused the Lamoille River to jump its banks, spilling onto a nearby fields at Oxbow Park.

In Williston, North Williston Road was water covered Monday and closed to traffic.

In South Burlington a large power line came down, knocking out power -- including street lights on Williston Road, Airport Drive, Kennedy Drive and Kimball Ave.  Police directed traffic around the area.

The Burlington Airport lost power. It used generators to keep operating.  Crews have been busy trying to keep the runways clear of snow and ice.  Just a handful of flights were canceled or delayed Monday.  The electricity is back on now.
