Another messy day on the roads Thursday. Light, fluffy snow fell steadily for much of the day. And it was just enough to really turn the roads slick.
There were reports of numerous cars off the roads all around the region. Vermont State Police says troopers from Williston, VSP Traffic Operations and the Lamoille County Outpost responded to 26 separate calls ranging from accidents to rollovers to slide offs. They had no reports of serious injuries.
Vermont State Police remind motorists to slow down when the weather is bad and not to follow other vehicles too closely.
Police also say if you leave thick ice on your car, it could become a hazard on the highway. They say several accidents have been caused by chunks of ice flying off of cars and damaging other vehicles. They're asking drivers to make sure to clear their cars before hitting the roads.
