BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Burlington police are searching for a truck and the driver who hit and broke a railway gate in the Vermont city that was coming down because a train was coming.
Burlington police say the incident occurred at about 12:20 p.m. Thursday at the rail crossing on Flynn Avenue.
A railways employee tells police the gates were still raising after a train had gone through when they began to lower again for a second train.
The truck is described as an early to mid-2000s gray or silver Ford F250 or F350 with an 8-foot bed, and a regular cab. The truck had a black grill and a white fiberglass cap on the bed. The driver was described as a white male in his 40s.
