A father and daughter from Franklin
County face animal cruelty charges.
Acting on a tip earlier this month,
Vermont State Police say they found two dogs in poor condition at a home on the
East Richford Slide Road. The dogs were found without food, water or proper
shelter and a veterinarian estimated they were within 24 hours of death.
Both dogs survived and are now in the
care of the Franklin County Humane Society.
Friday morning police arrested the
dog's owners, Randall Sheperd, 52, and Casey Sheperd, 19, on two counts of
animal cruelty. They were cited into court in February.
