More Canada Lynx spotted in Vermont

Posted: Updated:

More Canada Lynx are showing up in the Northeast Kingdom.

For the last century, the elusive cats were pushed out of the state because of habitat destruction. The 20-inch-tall animal is known for its distinctive large feet, which act as snowshoes.

Managers at the Nulhegan Basin wildlife refuge say as many as six or more of the snow-loving cats may live in that area.

Canada Lynx are considered endangered in Vermont and the federal government lists them as threatened.
