As we hit the summer of 2013... mother nature doing its part to rain on the parade... one of the wettest season's in state history... forcing hundreds of games to slide by the wayside...

When the sun finally came out... fans were excited to take their seats at Centennial Field... 1500 brand new ones to be exact... a nice addition for the ballpark built in 1904...

Speaking of ballparks... Little Fenway playing host to big events... like the annual Travis Roy foundation wiffleball tournament... 12 years in, the charity event continuing to be a smash hit... but it's this catch from CVU grad Konnor Fleming that made national headlines and ended up as a top play on ESPN's Sportscenter..

Former New York Giant running back Tiki Barber no stranger to the national spotlight... we caught up with him on his visit to the Lake Monsters... Barber not the only football player in Vermont this summer... former MSJ standout Jason Foster spending four preseason games with the Raiders... Spaulding product David Ball gettng a training camp look from the Eagles before a thumb injury forced him to take flight...

There was great action on the greens here in the Green Mountain state... Essex Junction's Evan Russell became the third Vermonter all time to win the New England Amateur championship... fellow Essex standout Madison Corley the youngest to win the Vermont AM at just 17...

No Vermonter more prominent in the game than Woodstock native Keegan Bradley... the PGA golfer and US Presidents Cup member returning to his home course for the second annual charity golf classic... in total $120,000 raised by one of the state's budding stars...

On the fast track... Bradford's Derrick O'Donnell looks to be the next big thing at the nation's site of excitement.. the 23-year-old becoming the first driver in Thunder Road history to win the King Of The Road and Rookie of the Year title in the same season... as for the ACT crown... Wayne Helliwell Jr. made it back to back even without a bumper at Airbone Speedway's Fall Foliage 200... as for Devils Bowl... Middlebury's Todd Stone rock solid.. a career-best 17 Modified wins and a championship on his way to picking up Wheelen All American series Rookie of the Year honors...

A new high school football season brings a new look for the Friday Football Frenzy... and a new Division 1 front runner as Middlebury downs Hartford to 23-0 snap the 3x-time state champs 26-game win streak...

No honors for Castleton preseason All American wide receiver Brandon Boyle... the Springfield native at the center of a monster theft scandal at a Rutlandtown Dicks Sporting Goods involving several key players including quarerback George Bucharis... all parties involved were suspended... the Spartans suffered through a grueling 1-9 season...

While in Lake Placid the Philadelphia Flyers opened their season with a team bonding weekend at Herb Brooks Arena...
