MONTPELIER, Vt. -

A Montpelier man is behind bars for allegedly threatening two people.

It happened Thursday morning at Parker's Quick Stop in the Capital City. Police say 23-year-old Justin Walton threatened to slit the shopkeeper's throat after the man caught him stealing. Police say Walton then pulled a knife on another patron who confronted him outside the store, threatening to slit his throat, too. The patron called police.

Walton was arrested a few hours later and jailed for lack of $10,000 bail.
