NH tax collections $6M below plan in December

Posted: Updated:

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire's tax collections are $17 million ahead of estimates so far this year, despite being $6 million below projections in December.

The state took in nearly $4 million less in utility property taxes in December than it had estimated would be received. That was partially offset by $2.8 million in extra taxes collected on business, hotel room rentals and restaurant meals.

The state collected $183 million during the month. Since July 1, the state has collected $872 million in revenues.
