VERMONT -

It's still pretty cold out there, so we have a few ideas for what to do indoors on Saturday, January 4, 2014.

YOGA FOR TOTS

Parents who want to help their toddlers learn to focus can get them started on yoga this morning in Highgate. Kids ages 2 to 6 can move and stretch their bodies at the Highgate Public Library. Parents are encouraged to participate too. That's from 9-9:30 a.m. and you do need to preregister.

CHOIR PERFORMANCE

The Essex Children's Choir is performing its Twelfth Night Celebration at the Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel at St. Michael's College in Colchester at 6:30 p.m.

REUNION CONCERT

Also, Young Tradition Vermont is holding its annual reunion concert, featuring artists from the group who have established themselves as performers, composers, and recording artists. That's at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe and starts at 7 p.m.

FARMER'S MARKET

If you're looking to stock up on supplies to cook a hot winter meal -- you can stop by the Caledonia Winter Farmer's market in St. Johnsbury for fresh baked goods, veggies, and beef. That's open 10-4 at Welcome Center.

BAND CONCERT

Swing North Big Band presents a program of "lessons and carols" re-telling the Christmas story accompanied by jazz carol arrangements and swing standards in Newport. For more information, visit: www.stjjazz.org

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Vermont Ski & Snowboard Museum is holding a cross-country skiing event at the Strafford Nordic Center starting at 10 a.m. Former Nordic Ski Olympian and VSSM Hall of Fame Inductee Bob Gray will lead a tour around the ski center. $1 for every trail pass sold on January 4 will go to the muesum. The Nordic Center is open from 9-4 and will have a fire pit in the woods with hot chocolate and marshmallows.

NORDIC EVENT

Colchester High School is hosting a two-day event or Mini tour. The event will start off on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sleepy Hollow in Huntington as a classic race. Then on Monday the skiers will race in a pursuit style format up Cochran's Ski area. This will take place at 3:30 p.m. Organizers say this the first time a hill climb format race has taken place.
