New York is about to become the latest state to loosen marijuana laws.
State officials told the New York Times that Governor Andrew Cuomo plans to announce an executive order allowing limited uses of medical marijuana.
That would allow 20 hospitals in the state to prescribe marijuana for some diseases like cancer and glaucoma.
This would be a policy change for the governor, who in the past has opposed legalizing medical marijuana.
State officials will work to put the policy in place this year, but we don't know yet when it would be available to patients.
