The principal at Readsboro Central School is facing embezzlement and fraud charges.

Vermont State Police say that over the past two years Michael Heller, 40, siphoned more than $4,000 from school related grants for personal use -- including hotel stays, meals and shopping. When originally questioned by the School Board, police say Heller submitted self-manufactured lists of transactions in an attempt to cover his illegal activities. They also say he stole $200 of lunch money handed in by students.

The Fairfax man will be in court later this month to face charges of embezzlement, forgery and larceny.
