Vermont highway deaths down

MONTPELIER, Vt. -

The number of deaths on Vermont roads went down about 10 percent in 2013 according to the Governor's Highway Safety Program.

Officials say 69 people died on Vermont's roads in 2013. That's eight less than the year before.

Nineteen of the drivers were suspected of being under the influence of drugs, alcohol or both.

One in every three of those killed was not wearing a seat belt.
