BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Machinery and building materials being used to replace an Interstate 91 bridge in Brattleboro are frozen underwater.
Project manager Caleb Linn says the equipment is under the West River as a result of an ice buildup from low temperatures and an unexpected rise in the water level. Some construction on the bridge over Route 30 and the river is delayed for now.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports the water will need to recede to get to the equipment and determine if it still works.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
