NEWPORT, N.H. -

A Vermont man accused of killing his wife pleaded not guilty in a New Hampshire court Thursday. He is being held without bail.

James Robarge was arraigned on first- and second-degree murder charges for the death of his estranged wife, Kelly Robarge. The Saxtons River man allegedly killed his wife the day she filed for divorce.

Kelly Robarge disappeared June 27 from her Charlestown home. Her body was found one week later in a wooded area of Unity, N.H.

James Robarge was already in police custody in Vermont on motor vehicle charges when he was arrested.

At a bail hearing following the arraignment, police testified about blood found in the front entryway to Kelly Robarge's home, and in the bathroom and living room. DNA tests say it's her blood.

Police testified James Robarge texted his daughter at work, asking where her mother was. Police said Kelly Robarge's body was likely in the trunk of his car at the time.
