SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A 28-year-old Pennsylvania man has suffered head and back injuries after his pickup truck struck a guardrail on Interstate 89 and he was ejected.
Vermont State Police say James E. O'Brien of Montoursville, Pa., was not wearing a seat belt when his truck hit the guardrail on I-89 north and rolled over several times shortly before noon on Wednesday. He is being treated at a local hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Witnesses tell state police that O'Brien was driving erratically before the crash. Authorities believe alcohol could be a factor.
An investigation is continuing.
