Schools food directors across the state are on the lookout for bugs in rice. That's because a student at Bennington Elementary found bugs in rice served with hot lunch this week.
The rice was supplied to the school by the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the "The Abbey Group," which provides food to the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union.
The school pulled the rice and notified parents.
It's not clear what kind of bug was found.
The USDA is investigating. And the state notified other schools to check for the rice and any possible contamination.
