Lollipop races draw kids to Cochran's

Posted: Updated:

A Cochran's Ski Area tradition continues this winter and it happens every Sunday.

At one o'clock, young skiers get racing bibs for a free lollipop!

They zip down the Mighty Mite hill at the non-profit ski area.

Taking part is free with any youth lift ticket, which costs $14.

"Totally, completely inclusive. And anybody can be out there racing and have fun. And they do. We see little kids and big kids. and they're all having fun racing and trying their hardest and going as fast as they can," Laura Farrell, who works at the ski area.

Some Olympians have started their careers on the slopes at Cochran's. Cochran's hopes its Olympic tradition of having a skiers' first race be a Cochran's race continues for some up and comers on the slopes.
